With a wedding in the middle of summer you would like to think you would get some good weather. But unfortunately on Jess and Ian’s wedding it was chucking it down with rain all morning. Their initial plan after the ceremony in Barrow on sore was to go across the river on the ferry, and have some photos taken with, the church in the background. But with the heavy rain they decided it would be best to not do that.
But still every cloud has a silver lining and later on it stopped raining, but so had the ferry and there was no one there operating it. The best man however had an idea, and he ran down the road, to see if you could sort something out. I couldn’t quite believe it, when 30 minutes later, he emerged coming up the river with a pedalo and its owner. So me Jess, Ian and the Pedalo owner all went across the other side of the river and we got the photos that they wanted. I have to say it was one of the most memorable events I had during a wedding. None of us could stop laughing about it.
It just goes to show that sometimes things don’t go quite plan but often what happens instead can be far better.
