It was such a pleasure to photograph George and Alfie’s wedding at Grangefields Barn — especially as I’d already photographed Alfie’s sister’s wedding a few years earlier. Walking into a wedding where you already recognise so many faces instantly changes the feel of the day. There’s a real sense of ease, and it felt less like turning up for work and more like being welcomed back by friends.
George and Alfie are genuinely two of the loveliest people — warm, relaxed and completely themselves — which made the whole day a joy to capture. Even though the weather gave us a bit of rain, it didn’t dampen the atmosphere in the slightest. If anything, it made everything feel even more intimate. The day was filled with emotion, from heartfelt vows to some beautifully moving (and occasionally hilarious) speeches that had the whole room either laughing or wiping away tears.
Grangefields is such a fantastic venue for a wedding — stylish, light-filled and surrounded by stunning countryside — and the team there were, as always, incredibly friendly and helpful. It’s the kind of place that makes everyone feel looked after, which really shows in the atmosphere throughout the day.
